Prebliss: Hii Collette: Hi dear Prebliss: I'm here Prebliss: So because you're quite busy, I'll just ask the questions here Prebliss: Whenever you see them (hopefully today), you can reply them through texts or voice notes Prebliss: What's your name? Collette: Ezeagwu Chidinma Colette Prebliss: Your hubby's name? Collette: Obodoechina Olisa Emeka Michael Prebliss: How did you meet? Collette: We actually started off as casual friends in Asaba where we met. He always wanted to get to know me more but I always pretended busy because then I was in the University (Caritas University, Enugu) and I didn’t want that kind of commitment with anybody. So, one day after the wild goose chase with me pretending to be busy, he told me off and that upset me so much that I removed him from my social media friend lists. I was that upset. Resilient him called me on phone and said that even though I blocked him on all of my social media platforms that it meant nothing to him since we didn’t meet on any of them in the first place. I was still upset with him and was angry that somebody could affect me that way, so I stopped taking his calls. All of these lasted for 2 months. Look at us now, we are getting married soon. Prebliss: When did you know you two were going to get married? Collette: I'm not sure about him, but for me it was my instincts that led me on. I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with him last year, I also knew he was going to propose, just didn’t know how or when. I just knew he was the one for me even without him making me scream YESSS to the big question. He proposed this year’s February 2nd which happened to be my birthday so it was a double celebration thing. Prebliss: How long were you two in a relationship? Collette: 3years and 7months. It was a long time but didn’t feel that way to me, or to him. It still feels like 3 minutes, 7 seconds. It was just enough time for us to know we wanted to be in each other’s lives forever and ever. Prebliss: If there were any challenges in the course of your relationship, tell us? Collette: In every relationship, loop holes are bound to happen, but all it takes to keep going is patience and love and trust. Apparently, we had challenges, and even ones that almost threatened the love we have for each other. Prebliss: How did you overcome them? (If you did) Collette: Understanding. We both learnt to be understanding and tolerant of the other person. That’s basically how we have come this far. Prebliss: What are his likes and dislikes? Collette: He likes anything that brings joy to him. I bring joy to him, so I am his love (likes). He dislikes stealing with passion. That’s top on his list. Prebliss: How well do you two communicate? Collette: We communicate really good. Distance is never a barrier to a relationship especially when the two persons in it love each other as much. Thank God for the gift of communication because at times we lose track of how many times we speak in just one day, even when we are in the same city but different locations. Prebliss: Did you two ever breakup to come back together? Collette: No, we didn’t. We fell out quite alright but we are two mature adults who understand the magic called “communication”. Why break up when we know we would both suffer emotionally? What better than talking and fixing it? Prebliss: Where's your wedding happening? Are you planning a destination wedding or just the usual? Collette: Our wedding is happening live in Asaba. Yes, I’ll call it a destination wedding.
